Dr. Malav Shroff | Co-founder and Director, Ocean Blue Boating Pvt. Ltd.
Malav Shroff is the co-founder and director of Ocean Blue - India’s largest Boating group. As India’s representative at the 2004 Olympics and as coach for the 2008 Olympics, Malav has been directly associated with the boating industry from his early days.

Along with Sujay Chohan, the cofounder of Ocean Blue, Malav has embarked on a journey to raise the profile of the leisure boating, both within India and internationally. What began with pioneering efforts like introducing the hugely successful Mumbai International Boat Show 2007 and launching India’s first luxury boating magazine – India Boating, has now resulted in a number of achievements and first’s to the credit of Ocean Blue. This includes, amongst others, the building of India’s first commercial permanent marina, the introduction of a world class service yard for yachts in India, a dealership business with a portfolio of the world’s biggest boating brands and the establishment of organised charters in this nascent industry. With end-to-end expertise, Ocean Blue is now primed to manage turn-key waterfront solutions, starting with a development at Lavasa, India’s first planned hill city. Through joint-ventures, Ocean Blue has a stake in manufacturing of aluminium and fibre-glass boats for defense and leisure purposes.
Prior to Ocean Blue, Malav has also setup Monaco based World Sailing League Limited. Malav has worked with McKinsey & Co. (USA) as a strategic business consultant and has also been involved in projects relating to developing new business strategies and knowledge building initiatives across various fields.
A veteran in the sailing world, Malav has many accolades to his credit which include
- Between 1997 and 1999 he was manager and national coach for the UK sailing team.
- Coach of winning teams in 420 World Championships, 29er Youth Worlds in 2001-2; Winner-Albacore Sailing World Championships (U.S.A.) in 1999; Inland Open National Sailing Champion (India) in 1994; Cadet Class National Champion.
- Instrumental in leading the McKinsey team to help restructure RYA (British Sailing Governing Body). Malav has been a guest speaker at the last two sailing summits and has been involved with the U.S Sailing restructuring.
- Malav is also on the Steering Committee of the ‘Connect to Sailing’ program of the ISAF and is presently the ISAF ambassador for India, which is aimed at promoting sailing globally.
Malav and is a graduate in medicine and has completed his PhD as a Rhodes scholar at the University of Oxford, England.

A successful entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience across industries, Sujay is the co-founder and Director of Ocean Blue, India’s largest boating group. With Ocean Blue, Sujay has combined two of his passions - his love for the outdoors and the challenge of building a sunrise industry in defense and leisure boating in India.

Prior to Ocean Blue, Sujay was Country Director and Vice-President Research at Gartner where he was responsible for Gartner’s Research and Advisory Services and on the Board of directors for Gartner India (Gartner Inc. is the world’s largest ICT research and advisory company). During his tenure, Sujay was recognized as a thought leader and lead analyst in the then emerging space of Offshore BPO. Sujay was also an advisor to several governments in Asia including China, India, The Philippines, Thailand and Mauritius.
Sujay is an adventure enthusiast and pioneer of paragliding in India; he spends most of his spare time paragliding, trekking and climbing in the Himalayas and closer to home, sailing off the Mumbai coast.
